Areas of Practice

William F. Macauley is the Chairman of Craig and Macauley Professional Corporation.  His practice concentrates in business law, commercial litigation, creditor's rights, and business reorganization.  He is experienced in all areas of debtor and creditor rights, business litigation, commercial finance, secured lending, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, trade secret protection, and other commercial transaction and disputes.

Representative Matters and Work For Clients

Mr. Macauley has extensive trial and appellate experience in cases before a number of state and federal courts. He represents corporate and individual clients in a wide variety of business and litigation matters, including securities litigation, environmental claims, deceit and misrepresentation cases, real estate development, valuation controversies, contract disputes, copyright infringement, and suits for and against banking institutions. Mr. Macauley also represents lenders and borrowers in the negotiation and documentation of commercial finance transactions, loan workouts and restructurings.

Awards and Professional Activities

Mr. Macauley is listed in The Best Lawyers in America as an expert in bankruptcy law.  He has also been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” by Law and Politics and Boston Magazine.

He is an Honorary Trustee of Boston University and a member of its Board of Overseers.  He is also a member of the Board of Visitors of the Boston University School of Law and a life member of the Executive Committee of the law school alumni association.  He also is a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Boston YMCA. 

Mr. Macauley is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the American, Massachusetts, and Boston Bar Associations.
