Practice Profile
Allison M. O’Neil’s practice includes business law and commercial litigation. Ms. O’Neil has extensive experience in the litigation of business torts, contract disputes, employment issues, and fiduciary duty claims arising in closely-held companies and partnerships. She has successfully briefed and argued cases in the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. Ms. O’Neil has experience in crisis management and media and government relations. Her clients include businesses, executives, and professionals in financial services and other regulated industries.
Ms. O’Neil also has extensive trial experience in a variety of criminal matters in state and federal courts. Ms. O’Neil is uniquely suited to represent clients who face complex civil disputes with related criminal issues, including commercial crimes. As a former Middlesex County Assistant District Attorney, she prosecuted a wide variety of matters, including rape, fraud, and civil rights cases in Superior Court. Ms. O’Neil was a member of the prosecution team that successfully tried and convicted John Geoghan, a defrocked priest, for child abuse.
Additionally, Ms. O’Neil represents clients involved in the fashion industry. Recent engagements include representation of an international privately-owned shoe company and related foundation, a model manager, as well as a fashion public relations company. Her broad experience in this industry complements the firm’s experience in representing clothing manufacturers and retailers.

Education
Ms. O’Neil received her Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University, where she was an Academic All-American Lacrosse player, and her Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School. At Boston College, she was a member of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Team.
Community
Since 2006, Ms. O’Neil has served on the Board for Boston’s Public Garden and since 2004, Ms. O’Neil has served on the Alumnae Board for The Winsor School.
