We counsel employers in such matters as the design and implementation of executive compensation programs, preparation of non-competition and change in control agreements, the development and maintenance of personnel manuals and policies, advice concerning wage and hour regulations and the design and enforcement of workplace policies, including non-discrimination, privacy, computer, and internet policies. We also advise employers regarding the termination of employees, reduction in force and early retirement programs.
The firm represents employers and employees in litigation in federal and state courts and before government agencies, such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Our employment cases have involved wrongful termination, pension matters, contract disputes, defamation, violation of state and federal anti-discrimination laws, harassment and state common law claims.
In addition, we frequently advise key employees regarding their rights and obligations to existing and past employers, stock options, non-competition clauses, and other aspects of employment contracts.
